# Glossary

> What the product terms in B2B Signals mean, from Radar and brief to stage, sender, approvals and people found.

Use this page when you meet a term you don't recognize. Terms are in alphabetical order.

## A/B test

Two to five versions of one step, so you can see which gets more accepts or replies. See [A/B tests](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/ab-tests.md).

## Add people

A way to bring people in yourself, for example from a CSV. People you add don't count toward your monthly limit.

## API key

A secret key that lets your own tools and AI assistants work with your workspace. It comes with a paid plan (Software or Custom). See [API keys](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/developers/api-keys.md).

## Approval setting

How much of a campaign you check before it sends: **Every message**, **Once per person**, **First message only** or **Autopilot**, which sends without your approval and only sends text you wrote. See [Approvals](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/approvals.md).

## Approvals

The place where messages wait for your yes before they go out. See [Approvals](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/approvals.md).

## Ask

The assistant inside B2B Signals. It answers questions about your people and campaigns, and suggests changes you can apply or skip. See [Ask](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/workspace/ask.md).

## Backup text

A plain message written when AI is unavailable. It always waits for a person to approve it, even on Autopilot. See [Steps and messages](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/steps-and-messages.md).

## Brief

What you sell and to whom. Radar reads it to decide who to bring.

## Campaign

A set of steps, such as an invite, a message and a follow-up, sent from a sender to the people in it. See [Campaigns](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/overview.md).

## Canvas

The visual editor for a campaign's steps and branches. See [Steps and messages](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/steps-and-messages.md).

## Check first

A step that holds the next step for your OK, even when the campaign runs on its own. See [Steps and messages](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/steps-and-messages.md).

## Comment first

A thoughtful comment on someone's post, then a message a couple of days later.

## Daily digest

A short summary of what happened overnight and what needs you, sent on weekday mornings when there is news. See [Notifications](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/settings/notifications.md).

## Do not contact

Your list of people and companies who should never hear from you. See [Do not contact](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/people/do-not-contact.md).

## First campaign

The campaign created for you at sign-up, from the people you mark **Good fit**. You approve every message in it. See the [quickstart](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/getting-started/quickstart.md#how-first-campaign-works).

## Fit check

The AI's check of how well a person matches your ideal customer. On the person card it reads **Why they fit:** for a good match and **Fit check:** otherwise, with "Doesn't match your ideal customer" when they don't. It's a hint for your review, not a decision. See [Review people](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/people/review.md#review-a-person).

## Good fit

You'd like to write to this person, and Radar brings more people like them. It doesn't send anything or join a campaign unless a route is set. See [How it works](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/getting-started/how-it-works.md#good-fit-and-campaigns).

## Home

Your day in one list: replies, messages to approve, new people, people worth a message and tasks. **Start my day** walks you through them one by one. See [Home](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/workspace/home.md).

## Inbox

Replies from all your senders in one place, with a drafted answer for each. See [Inbox](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/workspace/inbox.md).

## Integration

A connection to another tool, such as HeyReach, Clay or a calendar. See [Integrations](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/integrations/overview.md).

## Lead credit

What writing to someone who is not in **People** yet uses, for example a person you only watch. Writing to them adds them to **People**, and that counts as 1 of your plan's people found. See [Plans](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/getting-started/plans.md#what-counts-toward-your-limit).

## Leave out

The part of your brief that says who Radar should skip, such as agencies or students. A campaign also has its own leave-out rules. See [Radar](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/sources/radar.md).

## List

A named group of people. Campaigns take people from lists, and Radar adds new people to one. See [Find and filter](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/people/find-and-filter.md).

## Manual sends

Messages and steps you do by hand on LinkedIn, then mark as sent so the campaign goes on. See [Manual sends](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/manual-sends.md).

## MCP

The way an AI assistant, such as ChatGPT, connects to your workspace to find people, draft messages and read results. See [MCP](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/developers/mcp.md).

## Not a fit

You don't want to write to this person. They're hidden from your default lists and any campaign running for them stops. Nothing is deleted.

## Not working

What an integration's drawer says when the other tool keeps refusing people or not answering. See [Integrations](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/integrations/overview.md#when-a-tool-stops-working).

## Owner

The workspace owner handles billing and can delete the workspace. Each sender and each person also has an owner: the teammate responsible for them, who gets their reply alerts. See [Workspace and team](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/settings/workspace-and-team.md).

## Pace

How fast a sender works: **Safe pace**, **Balanced** or **Custom**. See [Connect LinkedIn](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/settings/connect-linkedin.md#set-the-pace).

## People found

The people B2B Signals finds for you. This is what plan limits count. People you add yourself don't count. See [Plans](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/getting-started/plans.md#what-counts-toward-your-limit).

## Protections

Daily limits, working hours and automatic pauses that lower the risk to your account. They don't rule it out. See [Safety pauses](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/safety-pauses.md).

## Radar

Our AI that looks for people for you every weekday, or every Monday on the Free plan. See [Radar](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/sources/radar.md).

## Ready

The **People** tab for people marked **Good fit** who aren't in a campaign yet.

## Reason

Why this person is worth writing to now: what happened, when, and where we saw it.

## Resting

A sender that LinkedIn asked to slow down. Invites wait for 24 hours, and other steps carry on. See [Safety pauses](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/safety-pauses.md).

## Seat

A place for one person in your workspace. See [Plans](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/getting-started/plans.md).

## Sender

The LinkedIn or email account a message goes out from. See [Connect LinkedIn](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/settings/connect-linkedin.md).

## Signal

The kind of thing that happened, like Hiring or Job change.

## Smart Agent

An older, legacy way of finding people. See [Smart Agents](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/sources/smart-agents.md).

## Source

Anywhere people come from, such as Radar or a watchlist. See [Sources](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/sources/overview.md).

## Stage

Where this person is with you, from New to Won. It moves on its own when they reply. See [Stages](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/people/stages.md).

## Start my day

A guided pass through everything on Home, one card at a time, with keyboard shortcuts. See [Home](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/workspace/home.md).

## Tag

A short label you put on people to group them. See [Find and filter](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/people/find-and-filter.md).

## Task

A to-do about a person, with a due date and an owner. Tasks due today show on Home. See [Find and filter](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/people/find-and-filter.md).

## Template

A ready campaign for one kind of reason, with steps already written.

## To review

The **People** tab for people whose source asks for review before they can join a campaign. See [Review people](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/people/review.md).

## Upcoming sends

What's lined up to go out, and when. See [Upcoming sends](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/campaigns/upcoming-sends.md).

## Warming up

A new sender's first days. It sends a little more each day and reaches its full pace in about two weeks.

## Watchlist

People and companies you choose to follow. See [Watchlists](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/sources/watchlists.md).

## Webhook

A message we send to your own tool when something happens, such as a reply. See [Webhooks](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/developers/webhooks.md).

## Workspace

Your company's shared space in B2B Signals, with its own people, campaigns, senders and plan. See [Workspace and team](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/settings/workspace-and-team.md).

## Worth a message

People on Home with no answer for a few days, or with something new about them, so it's a good time to write. See [Home](https://docs.b2bsignals.ai/workspace/home.md#who-counts-as-worth-a-message).

## Writing rules

How every message should sound: tone, length, words to avoid. You set them once for the workspace, and a campaign can use its own.
